Q: What is Flexible User License?

A: Flexible User License is an app that optimizes costs through automated license management.

Q: What are the benefits of using Flexible User License?

A: With Flexible User License, users can allocate app licenses to the necessary users at the time of use without pre-assigning licenses. This provides flexibility for organizations with changing numbers of users and enables temporary license allocation for new employees or temporary projects, etc.

Atlassian pricing is based on user tiers, so there may be a gap with actual users. Based on your current license tiers and the number of actual users, we suggest an Atlassian tier optimized for your organization and the cost you can save. With Flexible User license, Atlassian admins can use Jira and Confluence license flexibly.

A: Flexible User License is available for use with Jira and Confluence.

Q: How can I purchase a Flexible User License?

A: You can buy Flexible User License by Atlassian Marketplace.

Q : What user tier should I buy for Flexible User License?

A : You can purchase Flexible User License in your current tier. We usually recommend covering 20 to 30% of the Atlassian licensed user tier. It should be considered based on the number of actual users.

If the number of users of Confluence is 500, you should purchase the same user tier of Flexible user license. (500 users) Then it covers from 600 users to 650 users. You can check which user tier is suitable for your plan based on Atlassian actual users here
