Maintain License Count
The Maintain License Count feature allows you to automatically manage users within a license group and maintain the number of licenses based on a specified user count.
With this feature, you can set the maximum number of users for a license group and automatically adjust the number of users according to a scheduled interval. The system executes automatically based on the defined schedule, ensuring that the number of users in the license group does not exceed the set limit.
Maintain License Count On
On the License Revoke screen, click the Maintain License Count tab.
In the Maintain License Count screen, select On. If the settings look like this, Maintain License Counts is on.
To set Maintain License Count to Off, click the Off button.
When ‘Maintain license user count’ is turned On:
If the number of users in the license group exceeds the maximum allowed, licenses are revoked starting from the accounts that have been inactive the longest. This keeps the license group within its limit.
Maintain License Count Off
On the License Revoke screen, click the Maintain License Count tab.
In the Maintain License Count screen, select Off. If the settings look like this, Maintain License Counts is off.
To set Maintain License Count to On, click the On button.
When ‘Maintain license user count’ is turned Off:
If the number of users in the license group exceeds the maximum allowed, no licenses are revoked. As a result, users without a license will be unable to log in when they attempt to access.
Manage Set User Count and Scheduling
Set User Count lets you define the maximum number of users in a license group to control license usage.
When Maintain License Count is turned on, and the number of users exceeds the set limit, Flexible User License automatically revokes licenses at the scheduled time.
1. On the License Revoke screen, click the Maintain License Count tab.
2. Turn on the Maintain License Count option.
3. Click Edit.
4. In edit mode, set the user count in the license group. Based on the value you set, the Flexible User License adjusts the number of users in the license group to keep the number of users from being exceeded.
Set User Count: Set the user count below the maximum license limit to avoid exceeding your license. It cannot be set below 70% of the maximum license count, and changes might not be applied immediately.
Exclude users who have never logged in: If the Maintain License User Counts feature is on, users who have never logged in will not have their licenses revoked and will remain in the license group.
The maximum number of licenses (500) in the captured image displays the number of product licenses, so it will look different depending on how many licenses you have.
If you enter more than the maximum number of licenses you have (500) in Set User Count, an error message displays.
Configure the schedule for adjusting license counts in Maintain License Count Schedule Settings.
Run when the user logs in: This feature automatically reassigns licenses when users log in to ensure the total license count is not exceeded.
If the number of active users becomes higher than the available licenses at the login moment, the app revokes licenses from inactive users (such as those who haven’t logged in for a while) and assigns them to the users who are trying to log in. This helps keep your license usage efficient and always within the allowed limit.
Run at the scheduled time: This option automatically reassigns licenses based on a scheduled interval. At the scheduled run time, if the number of active users exceeds the total number of available licenses, the app will revoke licenses from inactive users (such as those who haven’t logged in for a certain period) and assign them to active users. You can configure the run interval in minutes (10, 20, 30) or hours (10, 20, 30).
6. To save your settings, click Save.
