View Release Notes (Latest Update Notification)

Flexible Table 8.0.0 and later automatically check the app version when you open a table. If an update is available, a modal notifies you. If the app is already updated, the modal lets you open the release notes to review what’s new and improved. If you’re not on the latest version, you can update the app directly from the modal.

If you’re using a version earlier than Flexible Table 8.0.0, the release notes modal won’t appear. To use this feature, your administrator must update the app to the latest version.

After the app is updated

  1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.

  2. Select the project you want to manage with the Flexible Table app, following the instructions in the Getting Started guide.

  3. The Flexible Table view loads, and a modal appears where you can review the release notes.

When an update is required

If a new major version of Flexible Table is available, a modal appears when you open Flexible Table to notify you that an update is required.

Only Jira admins can update the Flexible Table app. If a user without admin permissions attempts to update the app, the message You can’t update the app. Ask your administrator to update it. appears.

  1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.

  2. Select the project you want to manage with the Flexible Table app, following the instructions in the Getting Started guide.

  3. When the Flexible Table table view loads, a modal appears indicating that an update is required.

  • Update now: Starts the app update.

  • Close: Closes the modal.

After the app update is complete, both users and admins will see a modal that allows them to view the release notes when they open the table view.
