Edit scope, Hierarchy

 

In Edit scope, you can define the data displayed in the table view using a JQL query and configure the work hierarchy.
By combining scope settings with column selection, filtering, grouping, sorting, and column locking, you can build a customized table view tailored to your team’s project management needs.

 

 


How to edit scope

 

  1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.

  2. Select the project you want to manage with the Flexible Table app, following the instructions in the Getting Started guide.

  3. The table view in Flexible Table will appear.

  4. Click the Edit scope icon at the top right of the table view.

  1. In the Edit scope screen, configure the range of work items using a JQL query or select the work hierarchy using Show hierarchy.

  1. Click Save to apply your changes.

 

 

 


 

Show hierarchy

 

Show hierarchy allows you to define the work hierarchy levels displayed in the table view.

You can select the hierarchy levels to include.
The default range displays from LEVEL1 (e.g., Epic) to LEVEL0 (e.g., Story, Task, Bug, and other standard Jira work types).

  • From: The upper level in the hierarchy to display

  • To: The lower level beneath the selected From work type

The available hierarchy levels are based on the configuration defined in:
Jira Admin Settings > Work type hierarchy
