Getting Started

 

When you install the Flexible Table app, you can manage your Jira projects through a powerful table view designed for better visibility and control.
The table view allows you to group and sort work items according to your needs—track overall project progress by assignee, status, and other key fields.

On the Get Started page, you can select a Jira project to manage with the app. You’ll also find quick access to the user guide, demo booking, and support options to help you get started with ease.

 


Getting Started with a Jira Project

 

1. Log in to your Jira Cloud site.

2. From the left-hand sidebar, select Apps > Manage apps.

3. In Jira admin settings, select Flexible Table from the Apps list.

4. Click Get started to open the Get started page.

5. On the Get started page, click Select a Jira project.

6. In the project list, choose the Jira project you want to manage with the app.

7. The selected project will open in the Flexible Table table view.

8. In the table view, you can customize your project management experience using features like Add item, Group by, Filter, and Summed values to fit your workflow needs.

Managing Existing Projects with Flexible Table

 

You can also manage your existing Jira projects using the Flexible Table app.
Open a project and switch to the Flexible Table view to update work items, track progress, and organize project data within a structured table layout.

 

1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.

2. From the project list, select the project you want to manage with Flexible Table.

3. Once the project opens in the view, go to the horizontal project navigation and select More > Table.

4. The selected project will appear in the Flexible Table view.

5. In the table view, you can customize your project management experience using features like Add item, Group by, Filter, and Summed values to fit your workflow needs.

Managing a New Project with Flexible Table

After creating a new project, you can manage it using the Flexible Table app. The app provides a structured, table view that helps you organize and monitor project data more effectively.

 

1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.

2. Select Projects > Create project in the left sidebar.

To create a new project, refer to Jira’s Create a new project guide.

3. Once the project is created, open it in Jira and select the Table view from the horizontal project navigation.

4. In the Flexible Table, you'll see the newly created project displayed as an empty view.

5. To add issues to the new project, click Add item and select a work type.
