Summary
The Summary provides a visual overview of how licenses are managed through Flexible User License, with key metrics and interactive charts. You can check real-time license usage, track the number of active Confluence or Jira users, and see how close you are to your license tier limit. All chart data is refreshed every 24 hours, helping you monitor usage trends, manage inactive users, and make informed decisions for license optimization.
Overview of Summary
1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.
2. Go to Apps > Flexible User License in the left-side bar.
3. When the Flexible User License app is launched, select Monitoring > Summary in the top navigation.
4. In summary, you can check the status of real-time license usage through a variety of charts that provide a visual overview of license management.
Key Metrics
This section displays key metrics related to users, licenses, and user tiers. Clicking a number takes you to the corresponding detail page.
Confluence or Jira users: Total number of users registered to the Confluence or Jira app.
License tier: Displays the number of licenses currently in use against the total available.
Remaining licenses: Number of remaining licenses and the percentage of licenses in use.
Billing users: Maximum number of users allowed under your license tier, based on your billing cycle.
Billing cycle: Displays whether your subscription is billed annually or monthly. If your billing user tier is 600 with an annual cycle, you are charged for 600 users for the year. If your billing cycle is monthly, you are charged for 600 users for the past month.
Total users (Active users): Count of total users and active users in your organization.
Users with access to Confluence or Jira
This chart shows the number of users who have access to your organization's Confluence or Jira. It includes both managed accounts and external users.
Managed users: The number of users managed through your organization's identity directory.
View accounts: Opens the Manage accounts page under Directory in your Jira Admin settings.
External users: Users with email domains not managed by your organization. External users are grouped by domain.
View external users: Opens the External users page in the admin console.
More actions: Click Export as PNG to download the current chart as an image file.
Access groups
This table displays the list of user groups that grant access to Confluence or Jira. Users added to these groups are counted toward your Confluence license usage.
Name: The name of the Confluence or Jira access group.
User count: The number of users in each group.
View all groups: Open the product page in Admin Settings.
Only users in groups with Confluence or Jira access permissions are included in license usage.
Groups with 0 users will not affect your license count.
"1 - 20 of 22" indicates that 1 to 20 items are currently displayed out of a total of 22. This page indicator only appears when there are many groups to display.
Managed licenses by Flexible user license
The chart visually shows how the Flexible User License app automatically manages licenses by tracking changes in the number of users in access groups. You can view up to one year of historical data.
What the Chart Displays
Hover over a bar to see detailed values for active users and removed licenses.
Legend
Active users: The total number of valid users registered in Confluence or Jira. This includes all users with access to the product, regardless of activity status.
Removed licenses: The number of licenses unassigned from users. This represents users whose product access has been revoked.
Chart Display Options
Display frequency: Select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly to adjust how the chart is rendered.
Select Period: Choose the period to display based on the selected interval.
Daily: Select from Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 60 days to view license usage trends over the selected daily periods.
Weekly: Select from Last 4 weeks, Last 12 weeks, or Last 24 weeks to view license usage trends grouped by 7-day blocks (e.g., days 1–7, 8–14, 15–21, etc.), rather than calendar weeks. Each data point shows the average value over 7 days.
Monthly: Select from Last 3 months, Last 6 months, or Last 12 months to view license usage trends over the selected monthly periods.
