Get Started
When you launch the Flexible User License app for the first time after installation, the Get Started page appears. This page provides step-by-step guidance with links to essential setup tasks required before using the app. Each step directs you to the corresponding configuration screen. If a step has already been completed, you can skip it and proceed to the next.
Getting Started Steps
Complete the following steps before using the Flexible User License app.
1. Login to your Jira Cloud site.
2. Go to Apps > Flexible User License in the left-side bar.
3. If you installed the Flexible User License app and launched it for the first time, you will see the following Get Started page. Complete the necessary settings at each step.
Step 1: Check IP Allowlist and Configure Cloud Server IP (Premium Plan Only)
Check or add the IP allowlist. If your IP allowlist is already configured, click Skip IP Allowlist Check to proceed to the next step.
Check IP Allowlist: Go to Jira Admin > Security > IP allowlists and add the IP address of the server where the Flexible User License app is installed.
Skip IP Allowlist Check: If IP allowlist verification is not required, skip this step and continue to the next step on the Get Started page: Create and Copy API Key.

Step 2: Create and Copy API Key
To use the Flexible User License, create an API key from the Atlassian Admin settings page and copy it to apply in the app. Keep the copied API key secure, and contact your organization administrator for more information about API key creation.
Create API Key: Go to Atlassian Admin > Settings > API keys, and create a new API key.

Enter API Key: Paste the generated API key into the required field, then click Save.
Important: To use this app, you must select the API key without scopes option when creating your API key. The app will not work if this option is not selected.

Step 3: Create and Copy API Token
To use the Flexible User License, create an API token from Atlassian Account Security and copy it to apply in the app. Keep the copied API token secure.
Create API Token: Go to Atlassian Account > Security > API tokens, and Create API token.

Enter API Token: Paste the generated API token into the required field.
Email: Enter the administrator’s email address and click Save.
Important: To use this app, you must select the Create API token button when creating your API token. The app will not work if this option is not selected.

Step 4: Verify Your Domain (Optional)
Domain verification proves ownership of all user accounts within the domain and enhances user account management. It also allows you to grant product access to users with different domains.
Verify Your Domain: Click Verify your domains from the organization you are working on.

The Guide Page will not appear once the Configuration settings are completed.
Once you complete the Verify Your Domain step, the Done button becomes active. Click Done to finish the Get Started process.
Quick Start for Existing Users
If you’ve already configured your API information, you’ll see this welcome screen when launching the upgraded Flexible User License app for the first time.
Click Get started to begin using the app right away—no additional setup is required.
